GINO AG Elektrotechnische Fabrik announces the consolidation of its Bonn and Eisenach sites and the construction of a new facility in Meckenheim<\/h3>\n

Meckenheim\/Bonn, November 2025<\/strong> \u2013 GINO AG Elektrotechnische Fabrik, one of the leading manufacturers of electrical power resistors, is relocating its corporate headquarters from Bonn to Meckenheim and consolidating its two plants in Bonn and Eisenach at a single, state-of-the-art site. This strategic move sets the course for efficient, future-proof production.<\/p>\n

After nearly five decades on Friedrich-W\u00f6hler-Stra\u00dfe in Bonn, a new facility is being built in the Kottenforst industrial park in Meckenheim. The 17,000-square-metre site will house a cutting-edge factory for electrotechnical components. Groundbreaking is planned for January 2026, with construction expected to take approximately two years.<\/p>\n

Background: New build instead of refurbishment<\/strong><\/p>\n

The decision to construct a new facility was driven by the age and condition of the existing production sites in Bonn and Eisenach, where refurbishment would have required disproportionately high investment. By consolidating the two plants, GINO AG will generate synergies and raise manufacturing efficiency. The relocation will affect around 140 employees in total\u201470 from Bonn and 70 from Eisenach.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy moving to Meckenheim, we are fundamentally repositioning the company and creating a highly efficient, future-ready business that will thrive well beyond the 2050s,\u201d says Dipl.-Ing. Michael Hahn, Member of the Management Board (Vorstand) of GINO AG Elektrotechnische Fabrik.<\/p>\n

History<\/strong><\/p>\n

GINO AG can look back on more than 60 years of expertise in resistor manufacturing. A major growth milestone came in 2000 with the acquisition of Siemens\u2019 \u201cResistors\u201d division in Nuremberg. Today, GINO AG is recognised worldwide as a reliable supplier of high-performance resistors. With stable annual revenues of \u20ac21 million, the company currently employs around 140 people. In addition to its sites in Bonn and Eisenach, GINO has operated a subsidiary in Shanghai (China) since 2003 and, since 2021, another in Lisses (France) specialising in liquid resistance starters (LRS).<\/p>\n

Product portfolio<\/strong><\/p>\n

GINO AG\u2019s portfolio ranges from braking and neutral-grounding resistors to load and starting resistors, as well as oil-cooled special starters and filters for LNG compressors. A particular focus is on railway resistors for transport applications. Overall, the company covers a power range from 100 watts to 360 megawatts\u2014offering everything from standard solutions for the process industry to industry-specific turnkey systems for automotive manufacturing and refineries.<\/p>\n
